As a pregnancy physio expert, one of our specialties at Revolve Physiotherapy in Cairns is caring for new mothers and expecting mums. We offer one prenatal pilates class and one postnatal pilates class.
“Baby Bumps” Pilates Class for Pregnancy – NOT CURRENTLY RUNNING

The “Baby Bumps” class is a low impact pregnancy pilates and exercise class. Suitable for women throughout any stage of pregnancy, including those with pelvic girdle pain, back pain, and gestational diabetes.
What to Expect
Don’t let ‘low impact’ fool you into thinking that this class will be too easy however! With a focus on strength, control and stretching, this prenatal pilates class target key areas of the body that are important to strengthen heading into the wonderful life stage that is pregnancy, childbirth, and motherhood.
Think legs and glutes to support a growing body; arms and upper back to prepare for all the feeding and nursing that you will do once your baby arrives.
And let’s not forget pelvic floor health. Pregnancy pilates classes finish with specific pelvic floor physio exercises and stretching to encourage your muscles and body to relax in preparation for childbirth.
All exercises undertaken during each pilates class for pregnancy can be modified and altered to suit you and your changing body as needed.
“Mums and Bubs” Postnatal Pilates Class for New Mothers
Have you recently given birth and are now looking for the best postnatal pilates classes in Cairns to help you on your recovery? If so, you’ve come to the right place! Our pelvic floor physiotherapy clinic provides group post-pregnancy pilates for new mothers which are led by experts.
The “Mums and Bubs” pilates class for post-pregnancy recovery is low impact. It is a combined pilates and exercise class which is suitable to start from 6 weeks post-birth. Participants must have had an individual initial pelvic post natal physio health consult prior to commencing this class.
A woman’s recovery following childbirth can easily be overlooked in the post-natal period as they learn to adjust to all the beautiful chaos that is motherhood: feeding, changing nappies, getting out of the house on time, and, of course, lack of sleep. But, it is important not to forget that a new mother’s body has just done something so incredible – bringing new life into the world, and it needs time to heal and recover.
Guidelines strongly recommend that the first 6 weeks post-birth are for rest and recovery, but from the 6 week mark (with clearance from a post natal physio) it is a great idea to start to get back into some exercise and physical activity.

Not only can exercise help manage fatigue, it can also improve mood, improve sleep, aid in recovery, and help give the strength needed to be able to care for a growing infant Our “Mums and Bubs” pilates class for new mothers is an excellent opportunity to begin that recovery process and focus on key areas, such as:
Abdominal rehabilitation, leg and glutes strengthening (to help get up and down from the floor 100x per day!) and upper body strengthening for aiding in feeding and carrying your baby as they get heavy quickly!
It also presents a great opportunity to meet and socialise with other new mothers. And, best of all, baby, is more than welcome to join.

What to Bring
Please bring a mat (if you have one), towel and water bottle to the classes. Pre-and-post pregnancy pilates sessions run for 45mins. Health Fund rebates may be available depending on level of cover. Numbers are limited, bookings essential!
